Job Description:

Our company is seeking an experienced and skilled R&D Power Electronics Engineer with at least 8 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete hardware life cycle, from analysis and development to implementation and troubleshooting. The candidate must have experience in EV charger, AC 2 DC converters up to 60 kW, rectifiers, and building experience in debugging and troubleshooting at hardware level

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop discrete power supply for power electronic boards.
  2. Select the used technologies for hardware development as part of the responsibility.
  3. Master electronic simulation and design software such as Cadence, Allegro, ANSYS, Simplis, LTSpice.
  4. Design single-phase AC to DC converters for DO-160 requirements.
  5. Design and develop DC-DC converter converters topologies such as buck, boost, Sepic, Flyback.
  6. Perform Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Analysis and have good understanding of grounding and shielding concepts, chassis design.
  7. Design and develop power transformers and inductors for power converters.
  8. Perform hardware testing and verification.
  9. Design power input EMI filter using appropriate techniques for DO 160 requirements.
  10. Perform component selection, schematic capture and provide design guidelines for PCB routing and verification of component placement and Gerber files.
  11. Have an excellent knowledge of regulation loops, stability, rejection, efficiency, etc
  12. Design and develop protection circuits such as Over Voltage, Over Current, Temperature Monitoring, Lightning Protection, Inrush Protection, and Reverse Polarity.
  13. Perform design robustness analyzes such as Worst Case analysis, Failure Mode and effect analysis, Part stress analysis (good to have).
  14. Perform Power Integrity Simulation using tools such as Cadence Sigrity (good to have).
  15. Work with multi-disciplinary teams such as the load requirements team, PCB layout team, mechanical team, and suppliers to ensure effective power supply design.
  16. Have a general understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles including design, development, testing, verification, and validation phases.
  17. Have knowledge of different communication protocols such as SPI, I2S, SGMII, Ethernet Interface (plus).
  18. Define and execute test procedures.
  19. Have knowledge of CE certification (preferable).

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. At least 8 years of experience in power electronics design.
  3. Experience in EV charger, AC 2 DC converters up to 60 kW, rectifiers, and building experience in debugging and troubleshooting at hardware level.
  4. Expertise in communication protocol (CAN), hardware interfaces, and subsystems.
  5. Strong documentation and writing skills.
  6. Understanding the concepts of embedded software is an asset.
  7. Understanding of automotive requirements is an asset.
